so beautiful....

This is a card that I have not yet received from my dear friend Casey.....yes that is correct Casey, you left me off your Christmas sad....sniff, sniff.....or, maybe you plan to hand it to me personally at your workshop in January! You know I am just having fun with you.
Casey made this beautiful angel card this year. Two others have mentioned how beautiful it was and since I am still waiting on mail delivery, they sent me a photo so I could share it on my blog. Great card Casey!

Merry Christmas!

My sister gave me this darling Christmas decoration. I love how she used almost all amuse products to create this wall hanging. It will be hard to tuck it away after Christmas.
Merry Christmas everyone!

My sister is amazing! Her talent surpasses anyone I know. She made this beautiful tag and hung it on a gift bag for me. I can't even begin to explain everything she did to make it. She actually made the stencil to make the snowman using the amuse die snowflake for the arms. Most everything on this tag is amuse products. Thank you, Shari for your inspiration!

Laura's Favorite Things

My boss and I exchange gifts each year. I find it very difficult sometimes to find that perfect gift. This year I chose to do "Laura's Favorite Things" know like Oprah's Favorite Things show. So inside these 2 beautiful boxes are many of my favorite things. I think she will like what she finds inside. I made a beautiful tag for the top of the packages. My sister helped me by cutting out the letters with her Slice....a very cool gadget I might add!

mmmm....tasty treats!

A family tradition is to have homemade cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning.....mmmm.....delicious! I usually make them a week ahead and freeze them. On Christmas morning I add the glaze/frosting and some of us like them warmed and gooey! You will find the recipe below.

We also had a busy morning yesterday decorating sugar cookies....minus one or two....
We made butterscotch oaties, peanut butter blossoms, and traditional chocolate chip. We still plan to make a family favorite.....chocolate pixies!

SWEET ROLL DOUGH (Cinnamon Rolls)

1 pkg active dry yeast                                                  ½ cup warm water
1 cup lukewarm milk scalded then cooled                   1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup butter, softened                                               1 tsp salt
1 egg                                                                            3 ½ to 4 cups flour

Dissolve yeast in warm water in 2 ½ quart bowl.  Stir in milk, sugar, butter, salt, egg and 2 cups of flour.  Beat until smooth.  Stir in rest of flour to make dough easy to handle.  Place on lightly floured surface and kneed until smooth and elastic (about 5 minutes).  Place in greased 2 ½ quart bowl with greased side up.  Cover and let rise in warm place til it doubles in size (1 ½ hours).  Punch dough down and split in half.  Roll each half separately into 9X15 rectangle.  Spread with melted butter, sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.  Roll up and cut.  Place on greased cookie sheet and let rise till double in size.  Bake at 375 for 15-20 minutes.  Brush with butter and then frost.

Glaze:   1 cup powdered sugar, 1 TB milk, ½ tsp vanilla

Mix and spread on rolls.

down on the farm...

A new calf house is being built for the calves on the farm. The old was falling in and in need of repair. The baby calves have a temporary home in the tool shed until their new home is complete. Looking good so far. Come back in a few weeks to see continued progress.

winter stag

I love the simpleness of this card yet it has a majestic feel to it at the same time. I used "winter stag" stamp set from amuse along with latte ink for the stag and moon. I think the tree looks like a blue spruce when done up in the eucalyptus ink. I added a strip of double sided sticky tape along the edge and sprinkled diamond glitter for a touch of sparkle. Love this.

I made this set of notecards using a bicycle stamp from Hero Arts.
I also used hand scripted from amuse studio. I love that set!

Craft show

This was my last craft show of the year. I set up at our Christmas walk in town and despite the fact that there were not many shoppers I had a great time. I watched the parade, all the little kids waited in line to see Santa and the lighting of the Tree was a big success.

welcome baby

I made a gift card holder for my friend who was attending a baby shower over the weekend. I used yellow gingham from amuse along with french roast and sugar cardstock. I stamped the polka dots in lemon whip ink. The words and baby buggy were stamped in french roast ink. I added some ivory pearls and twine to finish it off. The buggy is a clear amuse stamp from a long time ago. I hope the lucky recipient liked this gift card as much as I do.

O' Christmas Tree.....

One of two trees we put up over the holiday weekend. We had plenty of help from family that had come in town for the Thanksgiving holiday. I am ready for the rest of the festive decorations.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend with the family! We missed you Collin!
